Routledge and the Association for American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) have announced the publication of The Handbook of Practice and Research in Study Abroad: Higher Education and the Quest for Global Citizenship, edited by AIEA member Ross Lewin of the University of Connecticut.

The foreword of the book was written by IIE President and CEO Allan E. Goodman, and many of the chapters are written by members of the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA), including Joseph Brockington, William Brustein, Darla Deardorff, Kike Ehigiator, Lesa Griffiths, Rebecca Hovey, Steven Jones, Riall Nolan, Howard Rollins, Dieter Wanner and Ross Lewin.

In addition to offering a comprehensive and critical assessment of the field of study abroad, the book contains whole chapters and individual insights that should help administrators develop and implement successful internationalization plans. The book consists of over 30 chapters, including "Global Citizenship in Theory and Practice," "It Takes an Entire Institution: A Blueprint for a Global University," "Understanding the Challenges of Assessing Global Citizenship" and "Creating Deep Partnerships with Institutions Abroad."

In Canada's Universities Go Global, editors Roopa Desai Trilokekar and AIEA members Adrian Shubert of York University and Glen A. Jones of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education bring together essays by Canadian and international scholars which were originally presented at a conference at York University in 2006.
