The Institute of International Education announced the winners of its annual Andrew Heiskell Awards for Innovation in International Education. The competition, which began in 2001, recognizes American colleges that have made significant attempts to provide international experiences for their students. This year, the awards were broken down into four categories. The winners were Champlain College, in Vermont, and the AIEA institutional member University of Monterrey, in Mexico, for internationalizing the campus; AIEA institutional member Clemson University, in South Carolina, and the University of Kansas, for study abroad; AIEA institutional member Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis for international exchange partnerships; and Scottsdale Community College, in Arizona, for study abroad at a community college. Other AIEA institutional members receiving honorable mentions included Vanderbilt University and Ohio University.
