AIEA Member Mariam Assefa, Executive Director of World Education Services (WES), was honored by Upwardly Global with its prestigious "Outstanding Leadership" award on November 16. Assefa was recognized for her "personal and professional accomplishments elevating the profile of immigrant Americans, as well as supporting diversity in the workplace." AIEA Past President Stephen Dunnett and AIEA members Miriam Assefa and Francisco Marmolejo gave invited sessions at the AMPEI Conference in Manzanillo Mexico.  At that same conference, AIEA Executive Director Darla Deardorff and AIEA member Rodolfo Hernandez gave an invited workshop on Global Leadership.  Details at www.ampei.org.mx/

AIEA Member Samuel Shepherd
was decorated with The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, by the Emperor of Japan, on November 3, in recognition of his "contribution to strengthening of the relations between Japan and the United States through educational exchanges and internationalization of education in Japan."
